The Wisdom
A blind teen boy was sitting on the sidewalk, with a hat for collecting money resting on one side, and a sign: “I AM BLIND – PLEASE HELP ME.” Very few coins were in the hat. A man passing by took the boy’s sign and used the back to write new words then he returned the sign to its place. Later that day, the man returned to check on the blind teen. The boy’s hat was full of coins. The teen boy who recognized the sound of the man’s shoes, turned to him and asked “Are you the person who changed the writing on my sign? The man replied: “I wrote the truth, the same, just in other words.”
“Today is a wonderful day, but I can’t see it” Did the signs say the same things? Obviously, both said the teen boy was blind, but the first sign asked for help while the second sign told the people how lucky they were to be able to enjoy the beauty of that day, something the blind teen can’t enjoy.
Deuteronomy 27 18-19
Cursed be the one who misdirects a blind person on his/her way. — And all the people shall say, Amen. Cursed be the one who subverts the rights of the stranger, the orphan, and the widow. — And all the people shall say, Amen.
