The proof that there is a GOD from the planning (or complexity) or design is a further iteration of Aquinas’ “Uncaused Cause” argument. Certain parts of the universe, especially living beings and humans, are built in an astonishingly complex way. Each cell has an interaction between tens of thousands of bodies that enable life, reproduction, consciousness, thought, and creation. The idea that such complex creatures would be blindly created without a directed hand contradicts both the basic intuition and the experience (for from our experience, we know complex works are created intelligently rather than blindly).
The theory of evolution, which describes the gradual evolution of living beings from the simple to the complex, does not disprove this argument at all. In contrast, if the universe is built like a plant for the production of living things, with its fundamental laws of nature aimed at enabling and advancing such evolutionary processes, then it is a testament to the wisdom of the creator of the universe — just as a watch, a mere mechanical mechanism, shows intelligent design and order.
